Laura Darais
Laura Darais has been creating various forms of art in
2-D and 3-D format since she was a child. Her painting “Faded Glory” was featured in the 2005 McKinney Main
Street Art calendar. She also received a third place ribbon for a sculpture from the Collin
County Art Show in 2004. Laura received her Associate of Arts from
Collin County Community College and is working towards her Bachelor Degree of Visual Arts. She enjoys creating and manipulating
different media and uses that passion to teach 7-13 year old classes, adult classes, private lessons and Summer Art camp students at Art Expressions.
As a child Laura
used everyday objects to create toys and scraps of fabric to sew cloths for her dolls establishing problem solving skills.Today,
she continues to work in any media which satisfies her vision for a particular art peice. Not limiting herself to one
form of media over the other she has worked in pencil, charcoal, acrylic, oils, wire, clay, and fabric which fuels her
inner yearning to create and work with the art process. She has homeschooled her two sons and other children in
a little schoolhouse setting, taught art at a private school in McKinney, after school art programs, and worked
at two different art studios other than Art Expressions. Laura is a resident of Collin County and resides with her husband.
Wendy Lamar
Wendy
Lamar received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Fashion Design from the University of North Texas. UNT is one of the nation's
most a comprehensive schools of visual arts at a public university, and it is considered one of the best in the Southwest.
Wendy is currently enrolled in a teacher alternative certification program and is highly qualified to teach PK-12 Art, as
well as, Middle School math, science, language arts and social studies and Early Childhood through 6th grade.Wendy is currently
a substitute teacher for the Plano ISD and McKinney ISD. She taught children and homeschoolers at a private art studio in

As a child, Wendy discovered her love for creating
art as a kindergartner with her first ceramic creation, a pizza, complete with olives and pepperoni. During her study of art
at UNT she discovered a fondness for working in watercolor with gouache. Wendy was honored as a Junior fashion design student
by being selected to show in the Senior show, Artwear, an honor given to only 2 juniors each year. Wendy designed ladies
sportswear at a Dallas manufacturer after graduating. Wendy, her husband and 4 daughters moved to McKinney after living in
New Orleans for 10 years. She teaches the 3-6 year olds, 8 year olds and up for sewing, private lessons and Summer Art Camps.
